About the position

As a Territory Business Sales Manager at Turning Point Brands, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and building strong customer relationships within your designated territory. This position is designed for individuals who are not only ambitious but also possess a creative and entrepreneurial spirit. You will be responsible for leading sales and distribution efforts to meet annual goals, which includes merchandising as necessary. Your role will involve selling company initiatives to assigned business partners, which encompasses gaining new item distribution, executing pricing and promotional plans, and managing inventory levels to ensure product freshness where applicable. In this position, you will leverage data and other available information to engage in fact-based conversations with business partners, aiming to achieve the stated goals. You will be expected to track and measure progress against sell-in initiatives and adjust your strategies as needed, collaborating closely with your manager to identify resource needs. Additionally, you will manage a product contingency fund, ensuring that you have the necessary products and funds available to support new product distribution, promotions, and to address low or out-of-stock situations. Administrative tasks, including managing point of sale materials, will also be part of your responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, that can influence successful business outcomes. Critical thinking skills are essential, as you will need to navigate various selling situations and offer creative solutions. You should be able to develop financially astute and analytically driven sales plans that generate results, while also being able to prioritize initiatives effectively. Collaboration within a team environment and the ability to develop account relationships are key components of this role. A motivated, self-starter attitude with a commitment to personal growth is highly valued. Proficiency in technological platforms, particularly Salesforce or similar CRM systems, is required, along with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sales and distribution within designated geography to achieve annual goals, including merchandising as needed.
  • Sell company initiatives to assigned business partners, including gaining new item distribution, executing pricing and promotional plans, and managing inventory levels and freshness.
  • Leverage data and other available information to consult and lead fact-based conversations with business partners to achieve stated goals.
  • Track and measure progress against sell-in initiatives and stated goals, adjusting plans as necessary while partnering with your manager on resource needs.
  • Manage a product contingency fund for product and funds on-van to sell new product distribution, provide promotions, and fill-in low and out-of-stock situations.
  • Manage administrative requirements of the job, including point of sale materials.
