About the position

The Territory Manager is responsible for selling a full line of building materials to assigned channels within the Cleveland, OH area. This role involves driving sales through customer engagement, relationship building, and market analysis, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Compile lists of prospective customers for sales leads.
• Drive vehicle throughout assigned territory to solicit orders from customers.
• Display or demonstrate products using samples or catalogs.
• Quote prices and credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Communicate and understand competitive field level pricing across product categories.
• Estimate delivery dates to customers based on production and delivery schedules.
• Record expenses and submit them according to company policy.
• Work with inside sales representatives to keep account activities updated.
• Track stock levels at customer locations.
• Submit itineraries, call reports, and other corporate requirements.
• Visit all prospective accounts to validate legitimacy.
• Coordinate customer training and develop relationships with purchasing contacts.
• Investigate and resolve customer problems.
• Attend trade shows and customer events.
• Participate in monthly reviews with the sales manager.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
• Strong knowledge of CRM systems and company reporting software.
• Proficiency in Internet software, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
• Knowledge of iPad use is helpful; SAP knowledge preferred.
• Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure.
