About the position

As a Territory Manager at Nestlé Purina, you will be stepping into a pivotal role within a leading company in the pet care industry. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to excel in sales, merchandising, and the analytical aspects related to product placement on retail shelves. You will be assigned a specific territory, where your primary focus will be to generate incremental sales, optimize shelf and store conditions, and identify distribution opportunities. Your role will also involve fostering long-standing relationships with key partners such as Petco and PetSmart within our Pet Specialty Group (PSG). In this position, you will be recognized as a subject matter expert, leading the charge in achieving top sales goals. You will manage your territory as if it were your own business, while also collaborating with customers and fellow Purina team members to enhance customer service and maintain our leadership in the pet care market. Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell Purina products, generating incremental sales.
  • Develop and foster business relationships with Store Managers and key decision makers.
  • Develop and recommend strategies designed to improve the overall efficiency of the territory and/or business activities.
  • Optimize retail shelf and store conditions at all retail outlets.
  • Maximize inventory at retail outlets by building stock and product displays.
  • Execute customer-specific promotional plans.
  • Re-stock shelves and/or create store displays with products that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Prepare for retail sales visits by obtaining and analyzing relevant store, product, and market data.
  • Utilize data tools to identify and close distribution opportunities.
  • Make recommendations to achieve 100% distribution on in-stock and new items.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • 1+ years of sales experience or an internship preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance coverage.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs of product.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Marketing preferred.
  • Experience in the pet care industry.
