About the position

The Territory Manager I is responsible for managing an assigned territory to achieve sales goals while ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role involves developing new accounts, generating sales through existing customers, and providing superior service to enhance market share for the Hillman Group.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Develop new accounts through prospecting.
  • Generate additional sales by selling new products and programs.
  • Maintain consistent call cycle with existing accounts.
  • Identify growth opportunities through expansions of existing customers.
  • Generate sales proposals, plan-o-grams, and analytical analysis of business.
  • Develop professional business relationships.
  • Work closely with existing accounts to grow and develop their market share.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and management.
  • Inform management of competitive issues and current market trends.
  • Respond promptly to all customer issues and concerns.
  • Maintain adequate call cycle and call frequencies with existing accounts.
  • Maintain display appearance to Hillman standards.
  • Update merchandising of displays to current standards.
  • Prepare special orders, pricing, and business agreements.
  • Complete all administrative job requirements and business reporting requirements.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of the company's policies, products, programs, and field operations.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Effective time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and initiate service in a timely manner.
  • Possess current industry and job knowledge.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with the Hillman product line.
