About the position

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Territory Manager - Inside Sales to join our team located in Cleveland, OH, with consideration for candidates from Pennsylvania, greater Ohio, and West Virginia. The Inside Sales Territory Manager (TM) plays a crucial role in supporting the sales teams by performing various analytical tasks, engaging with accounts, conducting research, and generating reports. This position is integral to enhancing the sales process and ensuring that the sales teams are equipped with the necessary information and tools to succeed in their endeavors. The Territory Manager will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and maintaining market intelligence information sourced from various third-party data providers regarding prospective accounts. This market research is vital for improving sales success with potential clients. The TM will also qualify prospective leads before they are assigned to the sales team, ensuring that the leads are viable and worth pursuing. In addition to lead qualification, the TM will prepare analyses, agendas, content, materials, and follow-up documentation to assist sales teams in understanding client needs during the sales process. The role involves processing quotes on behalf of the sales team and maintaining and analyzing all won/lost information to provide insights into sales performance. The Territory Manager will also provide ongoing support for existing customers by addressing inquiries, tracking order statuses, and resolving any issues related to product shipments. This includes facilitating no-charge orders, processing credit memos, and acting as a liaison for return and repair issues. The TM will research trade-in allowances and warranty eligibility, provide information regarding order status and stock availability, and assist customers with product literature and sales information as requested by the sales team. This position operates under general supervision and requires the application of diversified procedures and standards. The TM will complete non-routine assignments that may require extended timeframes and will perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, analyzes, disseminates and maintains market intelligence information from a variety of third-party data sources on prospect accounts
  • Uses market research information to enhance sales success with potential clients
  • Qualifies prospective leads prior to account assignment
  • Prepares analysis, agendas, content, materials, and follow-up documentation to assist sales teams in exploring client needs during the sales process
  • Processes quotes on behalf of the sales team
  • Maintains and analyzes all won/lost information
  • Provides support for ongoing customers by answering questions, tracing order status or product shipments and resolving problems
  • Facilitates no charge orders, processes credit memos, acts as a facilitator for return and repair issues, researches trade-in allowance and eligibility for warranties, provides information regarding order status and stock availability, orders product literature and/or provides customers with product/sales information as requested by sales team
  • Works under general supervision, applies diversified procedures and standards
  • Completes non-routine assignments that require a longer time frame
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 4-year technical degree preferred
  • 2 years of industry experience preferred
  • Prior Sales experience is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and work under pressure
