About the position

The Territory Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers through direct contact with personnel in various construction and truck equipment end-user markets. This role requires face-to-face sales calls, attending industry functions, trade shows, and other related events. The Territory Manager will be charged with growing the territory by expanding the customer base and increasing market share within existing accounts. This position will be located at the Bloomington, MN branch of Aspen Equipment and reports to the Sales Director. In this role, the Territory Manager must meet profitability and sales volume goals for the assigned territory. A thorough understanding of product offerings is essential, as is the ability to aggressively approach and locate new customer opportunities. The Territory Manager will ensure that all accounts within the assigned territory are familiar with the products and services offered by Aspen Equipment. Additionally, the role involves developing and executing a territory management plan that identifies all potential and existing customers, along with goals and strategies to increase market share and profitability. The Territory Manager will manage the sales pipeline and utilize customer databases and industry trends to improve sales penetration, increase market share, and enhance brand recognition. It is also crucial to inform management of all developments within the assigned customer base, as well as any ongoing opportunities and challenges. Keeping accurate records of all calls and correspondence in the customer relationship management system is a key responsibility, along with submitting business expenses in a timely manner and ensuring that all paperwork and procedures are followed according to company policy. The role may also include providing complete and accurate sales/rental contracts and performing other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide complete and accurate sales/rental contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous sales experience required.
  • Two (2) years of sales experience in heavy construction equipment or construction field preferred.
  • Understanding of hydraulics, structural or mechanical layout, equipment application.
  • High level of Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand fundamentals of mechanical systems as related to the commercial truck industry.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Computer skills to operate within CRM, quotations, and ERP software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating.
  • Able to organize time and plan effectively.
  • Must be willing to travel as business conditions allow.
