About the position

The Outside Sales Representative at Backyard Products is responsible for managing sales in the North and South SF Bay areas, focusing on luxury outdoor living products such as Studio Sheds and custom pergolas. This role involves following up on leads, conducting consultations, and closing sales while providing exceptional customer service throughout the project lifecycle. The position requires strong sales skills, organization, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow up with leads to schedule sales consultations and onsite meetings.
• Drive to appointments for meetings with partners and clients.
• Consult with clients to design and quote Studio Shed's, Studio Homes, and custom wooden structures.
• Photograph and measure the installation area.
• Close sales and process project documents and payments.
• Work with clients throughout the project, including producing building plans using CAD or in-house design.
• Apply for building permits and regularly visit assigned retail partner locations.
• Submit orders to the production team and manage required reporting.
• Conduct occasional jobsite quality control visits with the installation team.

Requirements

• Three years or more of outside sales experience.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Strong work ethic and highly organized.
• Self-motivated and sales-oriented.
• General computer skills (email, Microsoft Office, Salesforce).

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction science, or related field.
• Experience with CAD drawing or Sketchup.
• Previous construction and/or project management knowledge.
