About the position

The Territory Manager, Sales is a pivotal role at Esperion, responsible for the on-label promotion and execution of sales strategies for approved products within the designated geographic area of Albany N, NY. This position is integral to the company's field sales force, focusing on personal promotion and the effective implementation of sales processes in alignment with approved marketing resources. The Territory Manager will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure that sales goals are met and that the territory operates in a compliant and efficient manner. In this role, the Territory Manager will be expected to achieve individual sales goals as set by the Esperion Commercial Leadership. This includes reviewing performance metrics with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure maximum sales results are achieved. Building and maintaining strong business relationships with key customers is essential, as is the ability to effectively promote and educate healthcare providers on the use of Esperion products through various engagement methods, including one-on-one meetings and company-approved promotional programs. The Territory Manager will also analyze local market trends, develop and execute strategies to maximize the appropriate use of Esperion products, and demonstrate successful use of sales and marketing tools to achieve business objectives. Additionally, the role requires maintaining knowledge of product payor coverage to meet market access objectives and attending local, regional, and national congresses to promote Esperion brands. Administrative tasks such as sample inventory management, call reporting, and expense management are also part of the responsibilities, along with ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures. Overall, the Territory Manager will play a crucial role in driving sales performance and ensuring that the company's values and compliance standards are upheld in all interactions and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve individual territory sales goals as approved by Esperion Commercial Leadership
  • Review performance metrics with RSM to ensure territory is achieving maximum sales results
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key customers in the assigned geography
  • Effectively promote and educate Health Care Providers (HCPs) on the use of Esperion products through one-on-one meetings, virtual engagements, and company-approved programs
  • Analyze local market trends, develop, execute and monitor performance and results to maximize the appropriate use of Esperion products
  • Demonstrate successful use of sales and marketing tools and resources to achieve business objectives
  • Demonstrate and maintain appropriate knowledge of Esperion product payor coverage to deliver against market access objectives for the assigned territory
  • Periodically attend local, regional and national congresses to promote Esperion brands to HCP attendees
  • Demonstrate accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks such as sample inventory, call submission & reporting, expense management, and vehicle mileage reporting
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures, completing all required compliance training
  • Follow all Esperion Expense Report guidelines and adhere to allocated territory budget
  • Establish and maintain effective communications among Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Territory Managers (TMs)
  • Monitor and strive to maintain consistency between Sales and Marketing efforts and ensure high standards for executing business initiatives
  • Work closely with sales leadership and Market Access to maximize pull-through from commercial & government payers
  • Maintain vendor credentialing requirements for entities such as VendorMate and RepTrax

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Kinesiology, Pre-med, other STEM background)
  • 1 - 3 years of pharmaceutical or relevant sales experience, or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience calling on or working with Healthcare Professionals preferred but not required
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% including overnight stays for territory business and occasional Regional and National Sales Meetings
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record that meets Esperion employment standards
  • Documented track record of consistent high performance in sales, academics, athletics, or other similar endeavors
  • Desire to work in a start-up environment or experience in an entrepreneurial sales model
