About the position

The Territory Manager/Sales position is a full-time role based in Tampa, FL, with a focus on implementing key selling strategies to maintain and develop new business opportunities. The primary responsibility lies with Plumbing Distributors and Contractors within the assigned territory, which includes new construction, service, and repair sectors. The role requires the individual to connect with influencers and decision-makers to achieve predetermined sales goals. In this position, the Territory Manager will research and analyze various sources to understand the sales potential of the territory and develop new prospective customers. A Territory Sales Plan will need to be developed and executed to meet or exceed both short and long-term sales goals. The role involves making in-person sales calls and presentations to existing and prospective customers, ensuring prompt follow-through on commitments made during sales calls. Effective written proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers are also a key part of the responsibilities. Customer service is paramount, and the Territory Manager must provide excellent service by resolving concerns and questions promptly. Teamwork is encouraged, with coordination of sales efforts alongside local Carr Company channel specialists. The individual will be expected to maintain current knowledge of the industry, including product changes, market conditions, and competitive activities. Participation in industry-related trade shows and associations is also required. The role demands creativity in problem-solving and effective communication skills when troubleshooting and recommending solutions to both leadership and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Implement key selling strategies to maintain and develop new business opportunities.
  • Primary customer responsibility with Plumbing Distributors and Contractors within assigned territory.
  • Research and analyze sources to understand territory sales potential and develop new prospective customers.
  • Develop and execute a Territory Sales Plan to meet/exceed assigned sales goals.
  • Make in-person sales calls and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
  • Follow through on sales call commitments and assignments by Carr Sales Management.
  • Develop effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  • Return calls/e-mails from customers, manufacturers, and Carr Company Management within 24 hours.
  • Provide excellent customer service by expediting resolution on concerns and questions.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with local Carr Company channel specialists.
  • Update Carr Company and manufacturers' CRM systems actively.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the industry with up-to-date information on products, market conditions, and promotional trends.
  • Participate in select industry-related trade shows and associations.
  • Determine and invent creative solutions to complex situations in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively when troubleshooting and recommending solutions.

Requirements

  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
  • Must participate and pass pre-employment screening tests.
  • Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and a personal vehicle in good working order.
  • Requires a BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in related industry; selling required.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic plans is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of various relational sales techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Flexible, creative, and ability to work in a non-structured developing work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral/written communication and soft skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the plumbing industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tracking software.
