About the position

The Territory Manager at GAF Commercial is a vital member of the Central Area Commercial Sales team, responsible for driving sales of GAF's complete line of commercial roofing products in the Western Michigan market. This remote-based position focuses on building strong relationships with clients, identifying market opportunities, and closing new business while ensuring customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Identify market opportunities with contractors, distributors, lumber dealers, design professionals, and co-ops.
  • Manage the sales funnel from potential opportunities to closed deals through value-selling.
  • Utilize strong negotiation tactics to overcome objections and convert hurdles into growth opportunities.
  • Compile reports to highlight sales performance and strategic next steps.
  • Network within the building materials industry to become a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Engage and educate customers on product knowledge and industry trends.
  • Represent GAF at customer shows, conventions, and industry-related activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of outside sales experience in the building material industry.
  • Experience selling roofing materials to various channels including distributors and contractors.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical knowledge of the commercial roofing industry.
  • Strong computer skills including Google Business Suite.
  • Experience with SalesForce is a plus.
  • Understanding of the architectural and commercial design community.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.
