The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and targeting potential customers, forecasting annual sales objectives, and ensuring that the company remains a priority for its clients. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight, while also bringing energy and professionalism to daily interactions. In this role, you will be expected to deliver profitable revenue growth, which includes robust new business development and achieving gross margin targets. You will utilize customer-centric selling skills and tools to approach the sales process effectively. Establishing and tracking new business targets within your territory will be crucial, as will developing strong relationships with key decision-makers and project facilitators. Your responsibilities will also include prospecting and cold calling, managing sales and expense budgets, and developing account development plans that leverage resources across customer organizations. Additionally, you will be tasked with understanding industry trends, monitoring competition, and implementing the company's pricing and market strategies. Negotiating customer contracts to ensure a return on investment will be a key aspect of your role, as will participating in strategy development and defining target markets. You will maintain CRM data and sales statistics to track your progress and success in this role. This position requires up to 75% travel, focusing on Consumer and Industrial Accounts, making it essential for the candidate to be adaptable and willing to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver profitable revenue growth, including robust new business development.
  • Achieve gross margin targets as a percentage of sales.
  • Approach the sales process professionally and effectively using customer-centric selling skills and tools.
  • Establish, track, and close new business targets within the territory.
  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and project facilitators.
  • Prospect and cold call.
  • Develop, execute, and manage sales and expense budgets.
  • Establish account development plans and network resources across customer organizations.
  • Deliver planned results (AOP).
  • Develop account relationships, identify opportunities, and capture service opportunities at strategic accounts.
  • Understand industry players, applications, requirements, trends, and the company's potential share.
  • Coordinate with regional sales teams and collaborate with the technical area to drive profitable growth.
  • Link customer business strategies with the company's capabilities.
  • Monitor competition and develop plans to eliminate barriers.
  • Implement the company's pricing, market strategies, and business practices.
  • Negotiate customer contracts to ensure a return on resources invested.
  • Participate in strategy development and help define target markets and commercial strategies.
  • Develop written Account Plans for top strategic accounts.
  • Manage strategic relationships, cultivate new alliances, and monitor competitive activity.
  • Maintain CRM data and sales statistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of industrial B2B polymer sales experience.
  • Complex thinking skills to translate customer needs into solutions.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Professional presence with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Broad knowledge of solutions, materials, and processing.
  • Self-motivated and a team player.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Minimal training and oversight required.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong computer skills, proficiency with MS Word & Excel preferred; Salesforce experience preferred.
