About the position

The Sr. Sales Territory Account Executive at Cummins, Inc. is responsible for driving sales growth by identifying and engaging prospective customers, executing strategic account plans, and building strong customer relationships. This hybrid role requires a blend of technical knowledge and sales expertise to offer tailored solutions that meet customer needs, while also managing receivables and utilizing sales tools effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Increase Sales Opportunities by identifying, researching, and contacting prospective customers.
  • Execute Account Plans for top prospects, including face-to-face sales calls.
  • Build and Strengthen Relationships with new and existing customers to understand their needs.
  • Offer Tailored Solutions that meet specific customer priorities and drive sales.
  • Highlight Value Proposition to help customers evaluate Cummins solutions.
  • Conduct Effective Negotiations adhering to company guidelines.
  • Manage Receivables to support financial health and maintain acceptable levels of past due accounts.
  • Utilize Sales Tools like Customer Relationship Management to enhance sales efficiency.

Requirements

  • College degree in Marketing, Sales, or a related subject, or equivalent sales-related work experience.
  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.
  • Technical training in commercial power systems or substantial industry experience in construction, project management, and/or technical sales preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with operating a CRM, preferably Salesforce.
