About the position

The Territory Sales Manager for Ag Tech at AG Growth International Inc. is a pivotal role within the AGI Digital team, responsible for developing and nurturing long-term, profitable customer relationships. This position is designed for a highly motivated individual who will leverage their product expertise to assist dealers and end users in understanding and utilizing AGI's digital product lines effectively. The Territory Sales Manager will engage with a diverse customer base, including growers, ag retailers, grain buyers, and food processors, ensuring that their needs are met through tailored solutions and exceptional service. In this role, the Territory Sales Manager will be tasked with executing strategic sales plans aimed at promoting customer satisfaction and driving growth. This includes strengthening relationships with existing dealers, identifying and recruiting new dealers, and conducting impactful sales presentations and product demonstrations. The manager will also provide essential training and support to dealers, helping them understand product features and sales strategies, while coordinating with various stakeholders to develop solutions that address the unique needs of the dealer network. The position requires effective territory management to maximize business potential, utilizing networking, referrals, cold calling, and participation in trade shows to drive new customer business. The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for entering customer opportunities into the AGI Digital Sales Portal/SalesForce CRM, managing opportunity statuses, and developing accurate quotes for end-users. Collaboration with internal departments is crucial for problem-solving and developing customer account solutions, as well as strategizing with management to identify and maximize sales opportunities. Additionally, the Territory Sales Manager will gather competitive information and provide feedback to ensure AGI remains competitive in the market. This role also emphasizes the importance of customer retention through awareness of competitive situations and proactive engagement with customers. The manager will build strong relationships with customer decision-makers, ensuring that sales and retention goals are consistently met while adhering to the company's safety policies and procedures. Regular attendance and teamwork are essential, with the understanding that evening and weekend hours may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to promote customer satisfaction and continued growth.
  • Grow and strengthen AGI Digital's relationships with existing and potential dealers to enhance loyalty & commitment.
  • Identify and recruit new dealers within the assigned territory.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to dealers and end users.
  • Provide training and support to dealers on product features, benefits, and sales strategies.
  • Assist in developing solutions that best address the needs of the dealer network, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage a territory and maximize business potential.
  • Drive new customer business through networking, referrals, cold calling, and trade shows.
  • Enter all Customer Opportunities into the AGI Digital Sales Portal/SalesForce CRM and actively manage and maintain Opportunity status.
  • Develop or support development of AGI Digital quotes for end-users to ensure accurate cost estimating.
  • Work with internal departments to solve problems and develop solutions for customer accounts.
  • Strategize with management to locate and maximize sales opportunities.
  • Develop strategies and provide feedback to ensure we remain competitive in the market.
  • Gather and share competitive information with appropriate internal departments.
  • Execute sales strategy within existing territory to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
  • Assist with customer retention by being aware of competitive situations and meeting with the customers.
  • Build relationships with customer decision makers and provide extraordinary customer service.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across AGI's other brands & product offerings to advocate AGI to all customers.
  • Ensure sales and retention goals for all products are met.
  • Responsible for following the company's safety policies, procedures, and compliance rules.

Requirements

  • Possess sales and business acumen, ideally coupled with an Ag Business, Economics, Marketing or related degree, or equivalent commensurate experience.
  • Have two to four years of demonstrated sales or customer service achievements preferably in the agriculture technology industry.
  • Proven experience in building and managing a dealer network, preferably in the agriculture technology industry.
  • Grain storage, monitoring, & automation knowledge helpful.
  • Solid sales and marketing capabilities, with a good understanding of market segmentation.
  • Proven history of managing a complex technical product line (ie. Digital ag solutions).
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Outstanding customer relationship building skills, including active listening.
  • Advanced skills with: Word, Excel, Outlook.

  • Knowledge of IoT enabled devices and sensor technology.
