About the position

The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and market share growth within the assigned territory, focusing on building and maintaining strong relationships with customers. This role requires a strategic approach to sales management, with an emphasis on technical product knowledge and customer service. The position involves significant travel to meet with clients and prospects, ensuring that sales targets and revenue goals are met while providing exceptional service and support.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating knowledge of products and providing technical assistance to customers.
  • Increasing profitable sales and market share with current customers by servicing accounts and obtaining orders.
  • Contributing towards revenue and EBITDA goals by maintaining customer relationships and focusing sales efforts based on customer volume.
  • Developing new business by visiting prospects and explaining product potential and value.
  • Recommending changes in products and services based on market evaluations and competitive developments.
  • Monitoring competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing and products.
  • Keeping management informed by submitting activity and results reports.
  • Resolving customer complaints by investigating problems and determining solutions.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
  • Communicating with Account Managers to ensure high levels of customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or a combination of secondary education and relevant work experience.
  • 3 to 5 years related sales experience, preferably in a manufacturer of building products.
  • Proven track record in strategic sales and business management.
  • Progressively responsible sales roles with proven leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • Strong technical product knowledge preferred.
  • Proven ability to analyze markets and competitive trends.
  • Ability to operate with high sense of urgency and personal initiative.
  • Passionate commitment to quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, frequently requiring overnight stays.
