About the position

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) role at Mars Wrigley is an entry-level position responsible for achieving sales KPI objectives within a defined geographic territory. The TSM executes company strategies at the retail level to drive growth in sales volume and customer engagement. This role requires a high degree of integrity and the ability to work independently, with performance being highly visible and measured daily.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage fact-based selling tools and technology to sell the company's strategic focus areas to Key Decision Makers (KDM).
  • Customize and implement advanced selling tools and strategies to achieve orders and sustainable results.
  • Sell in contracts to support distribution, shelving, and merchandising objectives, enforcing compliance throughout the year.
  • Measure and evaluate specific territory business metrics (KPI's, trends, gaps/opportunities) and provide solutions where gaps exist.
  • Partner with 3rd party providers to execute merchandising initiatives after sales are secured.
  • Prepare materials for in-store and HQ sales presentations using advanced sales tools.
  • Leverage data to deliver channel/retailer specific seasonal sell-through targets.
  • Participate in team conference calls, training, and attend all sales meetings.
  • Manage storage facility and product rotation, inventory allocation, and supplies efficiently.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or HS Diploma with equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to lift 40lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or drive for long periods, and frequently bend, kneel, and stoop.
  • Ability to walk for a minimum of 6 1/2 hours per day.
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely.
  • Ability to travel overnight if required.

Nice-to-haves

  • A bachelor's degree and significant experience in field sales and territory management.
  • 2 years of selling experience.
  • Prior Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or retail sales experience.
  • Prior selling experience in convenience, grocery, or Walmart channels.
