About the position

The Territory Sales Manager at igus, Inc. is responsible for maintaining and enhancing customer relationships while achieving sales targets and driving growth within a designated geographic area. This role involves developing and implementing effective sales strategies, analyzing market data, addressing customer concerns, and identifying new sales opportunities. The Territory Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in revenue generation and business expansion, ensuring that the company meets its sales objectives in a competitive market. In this position, the Territory Sales Manager will engage in routine sales travel to meet with both new and existing customers. This includes understanding their current needs, generating additional sales, and providing exceptional customer support by responding to inquiries and requests. The role requires the presentation of products to prospective customers in both small and large group settings, ensuring that all customer databases are kept current and accurate. The Territory Sales Manager will also be responsible for pulling and referencing system reports to identify further sales opportunities, preparing timely expense reports, and keeping management and team members informed of all relevant activities. Participation in industry events and promotional activities, such as trade shows, is also a key aspect of this role, aimed at cultivating and strengthening customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Routine sales travel to visit new and existing customers to acquire and retain customers, ascertain current needs and generate additional sales
  • Identify and properly qualify new business opportunities using available resources
  • Provide customer support by responding to customer inquiries and requests
  • Present products in small and large groups to prospective customers
  • Ensure that databases are current and updated with accurate customer information
  • Routinely pull and reference system reports for additional sales opportunities
  • Execute timely preparation of all expense reports and assigned projects
  • Keep management and sales team members informed of all relevant activity
  • Perform other sales duties as assigned from time to time by management
  • Participate in industry and promotional events such as traveling trade shows to cultivate customer relationships

Requirements

  • Must have experience meeting with customers to address concerns and help provide solutions (B2B sales)
  • Proven track record of increasing sales and revenue in field sales
  • Bachelor's degree, preferable and or 3-5 years of B2B technical sales experience
  • Self-starter; motivated, team focused, and results driven
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and time management skills
  • Having proficient knowledge and familiarity on Salesforce is a plus
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office
  • Strong technical skills: able to present technical concepts; provide customers with hands-on technique using our products
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States and Europe
