The Performance Foodservice team is dedicated to building strong relationships with a diverse range of local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. As a key player in this team, you will be responsible for the development of independent account business, focusing on overall profitability through both new sales and account penetration. Your role will involve promoting and selling company-branded products while meeting brand sales objectives. Additionally, you will support customer service activities for regional and/or national chain customers, enhancing the visibility of the company in the marketplace and maximizing market share. In this position, you will generate additional business by analyzing your sales territory and individual customers. This includes sampling products with existing and potential customers, planning a general sales strategy that encompasses time and territory management, and conducting effective sales presentations. You will be tasked with growing sales and profit margins on an ongoing basis to meet established sales and margin goals. Setting up new customer accounts will also be part of your responsibilities, which involves determining pricing, working with the Credit Department for initial authorization, and coordinating with other personnel for order-taking and deliveries. Customer satisfaction is paramount, and you will ensure this by providing exemplary service and working closely with other center personnel to prevent and resolve any customer issues. In emergency situations, you may also be responsible for making deliveries. Building additional business with current customers through product penetration will be essential to maximize the profitability of individual accounts. You will need to monitor accounts for compliance with credit terms to minimize accounts receivable problems and maintain awareness of pricing trends within your sales territory, particularly for market-driven and commodity products. This role requires a proactive approach and the ability to perform other related duties as assigned to best serve the company and its customers.
