About the position

Merits Health Products is dedicated to enhancing lives through the provision of high-quality mobility solutions, including power mobility chairs, scooters, manual chairs, motorized beds, patient aids, and stairlifts. With a commitment to innovative engineering and customer support, we are currently seeking a Remote Territory Sales Manager (TSM) for the Chicago Metro Area, specifically covering Bloomingdale, Park Ridge, Evanston, Wheeling, and surrounding areas. This full-time, W-2 position is crucial for driving our sales and marketing efforts within this essential territory. The TSM will play a pivotal role in increasing product demand by developing effective relationships with customers and providing value in every sales interaction. This position requires a proactive approach to educating customers about our products, targeting key accounts, and exceeding sales goals. The TSM will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards and promote continuous improvement of our offerings. Additionally, the role involves staying informed about industry trends, government regulations, and competitive strategies to ensure the company remains a leader in the market. The ideal candidate will be expected to travel within their assigned territory a minimum of four days per week, with one day allocated for home office planning and analysis. The TSM must also conduct a minimum of seventeen qualified in-services per year at rehabilitation providers or referral facilities, participate in weekly call reports, and remain current on product developments and industry standards. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are maintained and to promote continuous improvement of products.
  • Educate customers on the value proposition and benefits of the product.
  • Travel within assigned territory a minimum of 4 days per week; one home office day may be utilized for planning and analysis if needed.
  • Satisfy a minimum of seventeen (17) qualified in-services per year at rehab providers or referral facilities.
  • Attend and participate in weekly call reports to evaluate and provide feedback on sales activities.
  • Remain current on new and existing product development and information.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
  • Stay abreast of government regulations related to competitive bidding and Medicare Billing Codes.
  • Follow company safety policies and participate in safety training as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant sales experience in DME and/or mobility equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and ERP/CRM systems.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
  • Valid US Driver's License in good standing.
