About the position

The Territory Sales Manager at Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) is a pivotal role responsible for promoting and selling IDT's comprehensive portfolio of products, which includes custom oligonucleotide solutions across various key application areas such as qPCR, CRISPR, Functional Genomics, Synthetic Biology, and Next Generation Sequencing. This position is integral to ensuring customer satisfaction and support while managing customer consultations and partnerships within the assigned territory, with a focus on achieving profit and revenue growth goals. Located in Boston/Cambridge, this role is part of the New England Field Sales team. IDT aims to be the global leader in key genomic applications, driving advancements in medical, environmental, and agricultural fields. The Territory Sales Manager will have the opportunity to develop and manage assigned accounts strategically, driving revenue growth and prospecting new accounts. This involves preparing information for sales calls to secure new customers and understanding territory growth opportunities to develop effective business plans and sales strategies. The role requires maintaining and developing strategic partnerships with key customers, leveraging internal resources to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The Territory Sales Manager will schedule sales calls and travel itineraries to address customer needs, executing sales strategies through timely follow-ups and detailed notes captured in CRM/Salesforce.com. Building in-depth knowledge of CRM and funnel management tools is essential for forecasting business, managing customer opportunities, and making informed business decisions. Overall, this position is crucial for driving IDT's mission to deliver innovative genomics products while enhancing the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell IDT's full portfolio of products including custom oligonucleotide solutions.
  • Develop and manage assigned accounts strategically to drive revenue growth.
  • Prospect new accounts and prepare information for sales calls to secure new customers.
  • Research and understand territory growth opportunities to develop effective business plans and sales strategies.
  • Maintain and develop strategic partnerships with key customers to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Schedule sales calls and travel itineraries to address customer needs and execute sales strategies.
  • Capture detailed notes through CRM/Salesforce.com for follow-up and record-keeping.
  • Build in-depth knowledge of CRM and funnel management tools to forecast business and manage customer opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with relevant Life Sciences sales experience.
  • Five years of prior sales experience, preferably in life science reagents/consumables.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets for at least 3 years.
  • Residing in the assigned region with extensive familiarity with existing academic, corporate, and government accounts.
  • Applications experience within the genomics field, such as qPCR, CRISPR, or NGS.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous laboratory experience.
  • PhD in a Life Science.
  • Experience and proficiency with popular CRM's (Salesforce) and knowledge of Power BI.
