About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for the sales and promotion of Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems products through Distribution to end-users and specifying influences, with a strong emphasis on achieving assigned sales quotas within a designated territory. This role requires a heavy focus on building and maintaining contractor relationships and driving sales growth. The Territory Manager will manage an assigned territory to ensure effective, efficient, and economical use of available time and company assets to meet sales objectives. A typical day involves conducting sales calls on distributors and potential users of Hubbell products, training distributor personnel to effectively sell and promote these products, and managing distributor inventory to ensure proper stock levels that can service the trading area while maximizing return on investment. The Territory Manager will also maintain accurate account records and conduct both internal and external sales training as directed by field management. In addition to sales calls, the Territory Manager will conduct formal sales presentations to various groups, including distributors and end-users, and will communicate with end-users through various channels such as letters, phone calls, small group meetings, and trade shows. Building rapport and strong relationships with distribution partners, end-users, and specifying influences is crucial for success in this role. The Territory Manager will also serve as a customer information center, providing literature requests, technical details, and product information as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned territory to achieve sales objectives.
  • Conduct sales calls on distributors and potential users of Hubbell products.
  • Train distributor personnel to sell and promote Hubbell products.
  • Manage distributor inventory to ensure proper stock levels.
  • Maintain accurate account records using TMS/Electronic TMS.
  • Conduct sales training, both internal and external, as directed by field management.
  • Deliver formal sales presentations to various groups, distributors, and end-users.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users through various channels.
  • Build strong relationships with distribution partners and end-users.
  • Serve as a customer information center for literature and technical requests.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of industry experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, TEAMS, Salesforce, and SAP Concur Solutions.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with various stakeholders.
