About the position

The Territory Sales Manager role at Interlake Mecalux is focused on leading the Midwest racking sales team in Chicago, IL. This position is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing a team of Account Executives, and fostering relationships with key customers to drive sales growth in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily, weekly and monthly activities of 5 Account Executives (outside sales personnel) with a top region in the company
  • Monitor the leads, quotes, orders and YoY sales volume growth for each Account Executive, making appropriate changes to ensure compliance with department policies
  • Monitor and approve travel bookings and business expenses of Account Executives in assigned region
  • Train new Account Executives with a wide range of experience and from diverse industries
  • Identify knowledge gaps among Account Executives and arrange additional product and sales skills training
  • Communicate important updates from Headquarters to Account Executives regarding product availability and new technology
  • Strengthen existing customer relationships by accompanying Account Executives on customer calls
  • Provide reports, including forecasts and status updates, to Headquarters' Management Team
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering
  • At least five years of experience working in the Material Handling Industry
  • Previous sales management experience
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Proven ability to lead by example
  • Excellent driving record and own car with specified auto liability coverage
  • Willingness for business travel locally in Chicago 50% of the time
