About the position

The Territory Sales Manager position at Ole Smoky Distillery, LLC offers a unique opportunity to break into the supplier side of the spirits industry with a moderately young and fast-growing company. This role involves representing three exciting brands: Ole Smoky Distillery, James Ownby Reserve, and Tanteo Spirits. The ideal candidate will be disciplined, possess a strong work ethic, and have experience in conducting product displays. Frequent travel is a key component of this role, as the candidate will be responsible for generating new sales leads and maintaining relationships with clients across the assigned territory. In this position, the Territory Sales Manager will be expected to establish and maintain relationships with clients, making a minimum of 10 in-person sales calls per day to spirits retailers. The role also includes merchandising products and point-of-sale materials, participating in trade shows, and conducting product demonstrations. The candidate will need to track and report sales in an organized manner using the Karma app and communicate effectively with team members while in the field. Strong motivation to learn about the spirits industry from the ground up is essential, as is the ability to manage time effectively and solve problems as they arise. The position requires a proactive approach to generating potential leads for future sales and growing the assigned territories. The candidate will also be responsible for managing an allocated monthly travel and entertainment budget, as well as a local sales activation budget. This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, enjoys working independently, and is eager to contribute to the growth of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients
  • Make a minimum of 10 in-person sales calls per day on spirits retailers
  • Merchandise Ole Smoky, James Ownby, and Tanteo products & POS materials
  • Participate in trade shows throughout the territory
  • Educate clients and conduct product demonstrations
  • Generate potential leads for future sales and grow assigned territories
  • Track and report sales in an organized manner using the Karma app
  • Communicate effectively with team members
  • Manage assigned territory through time management and problem-solving
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience minimum within the food or beverage industry is required, 3-4 years preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills internally and externally, verbal and written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail/Google Drive, and Apple devices along with customer relationship management software
  • Ability to travel and work independently
  • Ability to utilize and analyze POS reports
  • Ability to manage/maintain an allocated monthly travel and entertainment budget and local sales activation budget
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and have reliable transportation
