About the position

The Territory Sales Manager for the Countertop Division at VT Industries will represent the company within a designated territory, focusing on building relationships with customers, architects, and industry influencers to achieve sales objectives and increase market share. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, including prospecting for new customers and managing existing accounts, while also providing product demonstrations and utilizing marketing materials to enhance sales efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a solid understanding of all countertop options offered by VT and promote and sell to an existing fabricator base while continually building customer relationships.
  • Grow market share by prospecting for new customers and opportunities, primarily targeting millwork and cabinet shops, fabricators, lumber yards, distributors, design build developers/contractors, flooring dealers, property management companies, and kitchen/bath retail stores.
  • Develop a business plan for area of responsibility that aligns with long-range company objectives.
  • Schedule and perform product demonstrations with current and potential customers.
  • Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales.
  • Recommend marketing and sales strategies to target a specific region.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales plans.
  • Understand business and customer needs to help resolve product claims as they arise.
  • Use CRM system to log customer interactions, needs, new account creation, pricing, etc.
  • Utilize marketing material to enhance sales.
  • Participate in team meetings and regional and national trade shows as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of inside and/or outside sales experience in the building products industry.
  • Skilled in negotiation, organization, time management, problem solving, and consultative selling skills, as well as cross-functional interactions with other internal departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and adept at using Excel, Power Point, Word, Microsoft Office, and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of architectural specifications, building, and woodworking industry is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
