About the position

As a Territory Sales Manager at US Foods, Inc., you will play a crucial role in fostering customer relationships within a team-based selling model. Your primary responsibility will be to manage deliveries according to the routing schedule provided by the transportation department, addressing any issues that arise during the order process, such as delivery mis-picks, short loads, or stock-outs. You will also be responsible for communicating and collecting accounts receivable as necessary, collaborating with the credit department and clients to ensure all balances due are collected based on approved credit terms. In addition to managing existing accounts, you will leverage various resources to assist with top penetration opportunities and the opening of new accounts. This includes identifying prospective customers through market intelligence databases, business directories, and leads from existing clients, as well as participating in organizations, clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences. Staying informed about market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' offerings will be essential, as you will share this information with customers as part of the value-added services provided. The role requires you to drive to existing customers and prospects to ensure product delivery, which may involve lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75 lbs. This position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $60,000 to $90,000 annually, with the potential for commissions and incentive compensation. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
  • Foodservice industry, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold call to develop new business.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Competitive spirit and results-driven mentality.
  • Problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and negotiation skills.
  • Team-oriented mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products.
