About the position

Merits Health Products is dedicated to enhancing lives through the provision of high-quality power mobility chairs, scooters, manual chairs, motorized beds, patient aids, and stairlifts. Our innovative designs stem from years of experience and research, coupled with a deep understanding of our customers' unique needs. We are currently seeking a Remote Territory Sales Manager (TSM) for the Chicago Metro Area, specifically covering Downers Grove, Schaumburg, Joliet, and surrounding areas. This full-time, W-2 position is crucial for driving our sales and marketing efforts within this essential territory. The Territory Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in championing the company's sales initiatives by focusing on building product demand through effective relationship development. The TSM will be responsible for increasing sales of our product offerings, working within their assigned territory to enhance customer knowledge of our products, target key accounts, develop opportunities, and exceed budgeted sales goals. This position requires a commitment to advancing the company's vision, culture, values, and work environment, while also providing life-enhancing solutions that promote independence and accessibility for all. In this role, the TSM will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards and promote continuous product improvement. They will educate customers on the value proposition and benefits of our products, ensuring that they are well-informed and satisfied. The TSM will be expected to travel within their assigned territory a minimum of four days per week, with one day allocated for home office planning and analysis. Additionally, they must conduct a minimum of seventeen qualified in-services per year at rehab providers or referral facilities, participate in weekly call reports to evaluate sales activities, and stay current on product developments, industry standards, and government regulations related to competitive bidding and Medicare billing codes. The role also involves adhering to company safety policies and participating in safety training as required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are maintained and to promote continuous improvement of products.
  • Educate customers on the value proposition and benefits of the product.
  • Travel within assigned territory a minimum of 4 days per week; one home office day may be utilized for planning and analysis if needed.
  • Satisfy a minimum of seventeen (17) qualified in-services per year at rehab providers or referral facilities.
  • Attend and participate in weekly call reports to evaluate and provide feedback on sales activities.
  • Remain current on new and existing product development and information.
  • Stay abreast of industry standards and trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
  • Follow company safety policies and participate in Safety Training as required.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant sales experience in DME and/or mobility equipment.
  • High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
  • Valid US Driver's License in good standing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and ERP/CRM systems.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
