About the position

Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) is at the forefront of custom oligonucleotide manufacturing and proprietary technologies for genomics applications. As a Territory Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and selling IDT's extensive portfolio of products, which includes custom oligonucleotide solutions across various key application areas such as qPCR, CRISPR, Functional Genomics, Synthetic Biology, and Next Generation Sequencing. This position is not just about sales; it is about building and maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving revenue growth within your assigned territory. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing assigned accounts strategically, which involves understanding both the short-term and long-term needs of your clients. You will be expected to research and identify growth opportunities within your territory, crafting effective business plans and sales strategies to capitalize on these opportunities. Your ability to maintain and develop strategic partnerships with key customers will be crucial, as will your capacity to leverage internal resources to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction. You will also be tasked with scheduling sales calls and managing your travel itinerary to address customer needs effectively. This includes executing sales strategies through timely follow-ups and maintaining detailed records of your interactions using CRM tools like Salesforce.com. Your role will require you to build in-depth knowledge of CRM and funnel management tools to forecast business, manage customer opportunities, and make informed business decisions. Responsibilities

  • Promote and sell IDT's full portfolio of products including custom oligonucleotide solutions.
  • Develop and manage assigned accounts strategically to drive revenue growth.
  • Prospect new accounts and prepare information for sales calls to secure new customers.
  • Research and understand territory growth opportunities to develop effective business plans and sales strategies.
  • Maintain and develop strategic partnerships with key customers to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Schedule sales calls and manage travel itineraries to address customer needs.
  • Utilize CRM tools to capture detailed notes and manage customer communications.
  • Build in-depth knowledge of CRM and funnel management tools to forecast business and manage customer opportunities.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of sales experience, preferably in life science reagents/consumables/genomics.
  • Experience selling genomic solutions including qPCR, CRISPR, and NGS.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Reside within a commutable distance to Boston with a strong understanding of local clients in academic/research and biotech/biopharma sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences discipline; MS preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous laboratory experience.
  • PhD in a Life Science.
  • Experience and proficiency with popular CRMs (Salesforce) and knowledge of Power BI.
