About the position

The Agency Sales Territory Associate Manager at National General Insurance is a pivotal role that focuses on the management and growth of insurance agencies within a designated territory. This position is integral to the company's strategy of expanding its market presence and enhancing profitability through effective agency management. The individual in this role will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying, appointing, and managing agencies to ensure they meet the company's sales and growth objectives. This includes not only achieving volume and profit targets but also fostering strong relationships with appointed agents to drive mutual success. In addition to managing existing relationships, the Agency Sales Territory Associate Manager will actively seek out new agency partnerships, evaluating their potential to contribute to the company's goals. This involves a thorough understanding of the insurance market and the ability to identify agencies that align with National General's standards for quality and performance. The role also requires the manager to serve as a subject matter expert, providing mentorship and support to both new hires and existing agents, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness of the sales team. The position demands a proactive approach to sales management, where the manager must consistently exceed production goals, maintain a favorable loss ratio, and uphold key performance indicators (KPIs). This includes the responsibility of terminating underperforming agents and implementing training programs to increase the productivity of the agency network. The Agency Sales Territory Associate Manager will work closely with regional sales managers and vice presidents to align strategies and ensure the successful execution of company initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, appoint, and manage agencies in a defined territory to produce profitable sales and growth.
  • Meet and exceed territory volume and profit objectives while maintaining relationships with appointed agents.
  • Recommend agencies to participate in profit-sharing, rewards, and special incentives programs.
  • Solicit new agencies and evaluate their potential to write quality new business.
  • Consistently exceed agreed upon new business production, direct written premium, and loss ratio goals.
  • Serve as a role model for team members and assist in training and mentoring new hires.
  • Terminate agents for lack of production or unprofitable results.
  • Increase the percentage of producing agents through additional training and process improvements.

Requirements

  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • 5 or more years of experience in a related field (Preferred)
  • Supervisory experience is required.
