About the position

The Agency Sales Territory Associate Manager at National General is a pivotal role responsible for the strategic management and growth of insurance agencies within a designated territory. This position involves a comprehensive approach to prospecting, qualifying, appointing, and managing agencies to ensure profitable sales and sustainable growth. The Associate Manager will work closely with appointed agents to foster strong relationships, ensuring that both the company and the agents achieve their respective goals. This role is not only about meeting sales targets but also about enhancing the overall performance of the agency network by providing mentorship and support to agents. The Associate Manager will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding agents through various sales initiatives and programs designed to boost productivity and profitability. In addition to managing relationships with existing agents, the Associate Manager will actively seek out new agency partnerships, evaluating their potential to contribute to the company's growth objectives. This includes recommending agencies for participation in profit-sharing and incentive programs, as well as ensuring that the agents are equipped with the necessary training and resources to succeed. The role requires a proactive approach to managing performance metrics, including new business production, direct written premium, and loss ratios, ensuring that the territory consistently exceeds established KPIs. The Associate Manager will also play a critical role in the training and development of new hires, working alongside the Vice President and Regional Sales Managers to instill a culture of excellence and high performance within the team. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and profitability of the agency network, including making tough decisions such as terminating agents who do not meet performance standards. Overall, the Agency Sales Territory Associate Manager is a dynamic role that combines sales acumen, relationship management, and leadership skills to drive the success of National General's agency operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, appoint, and manage agencies in a defined territory to produce profitable sales and growth.
  • Meet and exceed territory volume and profit objectives while maintaining relationships with appointed agents.
  • Recommend agencies for participation in profit-sharing, rewards, and special incentives programs.
  • Solicit new agencies and evaluate their potential to write quality new business.
  • Consistently exceed new business production, direct written premium, and loss ratio goals.
  • Serve as a role model for team members and assist in training and mentoring new hires.
  • Terminate agents for lack of production or unprofitable results.
  • Increase the percentage of producing agents through additional training and process improvements.

Requirements

  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
  • 5 or more years of experience in a related field (Preferred)
  • Supervisory experience is required.
