About the position

The Sales Representative position at Masonite, now part of Owens Corning, focuses on driving sales growth in the building products sector. The role involves demonstrating the value of products, creating strategic plans for territory growth, and engaging with customers to resolve issues and provide training. The representative will work closely with channel influencers and participate in industry events to cultivate relationships and enhance product knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates value proposition of products or services using persuasive sales techniques.
  • Create territory specific strategic plans to profitably grow the territory.
  • Attain revenue targets and KPIs as set by the sales director.
  • Drive sales opportunities by working with channel influencers (architects, engineers, and general contractors).
  • Learn and recognize triggers based on customer behavior and engage with customers who request to terminate or downgrade service.
  • Assist customers in the effective execution of product/project strategy for all commercial building projects.
  • Collect market intelligence, share through CRM, and adjust offers for future projects.
  • Participate in construction site meetings to resolve warranty/claim issues.
  • Execute customer training in systems, products, and selling skills.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and resolve sales related issues on a timely basis.
  • Provide timely and accurate forecasts to the supply chain organization to ensure strong service levels and appropriate capacity levels.
  • Analyze competitor activities in the region and assess opportunities for business development.
  • Participate in industry or promotional events (e.g. trade shows) to cultivate customer relationships.
  • Educate clients on products and provide training of products and product systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of proven outside sales experience in a building product or construction industry.
  • Experience in a CRM environment.
  • Extensive overnight territory travel (50%+).
  • Ability to safely inspect product and specifications as they relate to warranty/claim issues directly on the job site.
