About the position

KENT® Nutrition Group, a recognized leader in the animal nutrition industry and a five-time US Best Managed Company, is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Territory Sales Manager for the Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri regions. This full-time salaried position offers a comprehensive benefits package and reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in expanding our market presence and driving sales growth through strategic partnerships with livestock producers and dealers. In this role, the Territory Sales Manager will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to identify open markets and establish effective distribution channels. The primary focus will be on directly engaging with livestock producers to promote KNG products through feed trials, nutrition formulation, and comprehensive feed management support. The manager will be responsible for increasing sales across all KNG products, enhancing profitability within the assigned territory, and providing essential support to Territory Accounts. This includes offering technical assistance at both the producer and dealer levels, supporting feed formulation through Dalex, and facilitating new product introductions. The Territory Sales Manager will also be tasked with conducting consumer seminars to educate clients and enhance brand awareness, as well as performing end-user field calls to foster business growth. Regular communication and reporting will be conducted using Saleslogix to track account activity, tonnage, division results, and promotion sign-ups. The position requires a significant amount of travel, approximately 75-80%, to visit dealerships, attend trade shows, and participate in sales meetings, with the remaining 15% spent in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Regional Sales Manager to identify open markets and set up appropriate distribution.
  • Work directly with livestock producers to prospect business through feed trials, nutrition formulation utilizing Dalex, and feed management support.
  • Increase sales of all KNG products through the Dealer channel and Direct Livestock Producer.
  • Increase profitability of the assigned territory for KNG.
  • Provide support and direction to Territory Accounts for technical support at the producer and dealer level.
  • Support feed formulation; Dalex Promotion Planning Dealer Net and Dealer Club Review and Support.
  • Assist with new product introductions and provide product training and support.
  • Offer merchandising assistance and up-selling and add-on sales strategies.
  • Conduct consumer seminars to educate consumers and build brand and product awareness.
  • Perform end-user field calls as needed to grow the business.
  • Call on accounts weekly to monthly based on determining factors.
  • Travel in territory is 75-80% of the role.
  • Weekly use of Saleslogix to communicate all account activity.
  • Accountable for tracking tonnage, division results and promotion sign-ups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or an Ag-related business degree.
  • 3-4 years of related work experience in nutrition, formulating, and on-farm experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong results-oriented and goal-motivated team player.
  • Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Merchandising experience is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Ration Balancing Programs.
