About the position

The Territory Sales Manager position at Kent Nutrition Group involves managing sales and distribution in Southern Illinois and Southeast Missouri. This role focuses on increasing sales of KNG products through direct engagement with livestock producers and dealers, providing technical support, and promoting brand awareness. The position requires significant travel within the territory and reports to the Regional Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Regional Sales Manager to identify open markets and set up appropriate distribution.
  • Work directly with livestock producers to prospect business through feed trials, nutrition formulation, and feed management support.
  • Increase sales of all KNG products through the Dealer channel and Direct Livestock Producer.
  • Increase profitability of the assigned territory for KNG.
  • Provide support and direction to Territory Accounts for technical support at the producer and dealer level.
  • Support feed formulation using Dalex.
  • Plan promotions and review Dealer Net and Dealer Club.
  • Assist with new product introductions and provide product training and support.
  • Offer merchandising assistance and up-selling opportunities.
  • Conduct consumer seminars to educate consumers and build brand awareness.
  • Make end-user field calls as needed to grow the business.
  • Call on accounts weekly to monthly based on determining factors.
  • Travel in territory is 75-80% of the role.
  • Use Saleslogix weekly to communicate all account activity.
  • Track tonnage, division results, and promotion sign-ups.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Animal Science or Ag related business degree.
  • 3-4 years of related work experience.
  • 1-2 years beef industry experience preferred.
  • Nutrition, formulating, on-farm experience absolutely required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong results-oriented and goal-motivated team player.
  • Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Merchandising experience.
  • Ability to focus on predetermined direction.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Ration Balancing Programs.
