About the position

The Territory Sales Manager position at Cone Drive Operations, a Timken company, is a pivotal role that focuses on driving sales and business development within the Illinois and northwest Indiana regions. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to take on the challenge of enhancing the efficiency and reliability of machinery in the industrial sector. The successful candidate will work remotely, allowing for flexibility while managing a diverse portfolio of accounts. The primary responsibility of the Territory Sales Manager (TSM) is to develop new applications and expand the Cone Drive business at targeted Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) accounts, while also maintaining and growing existing relationships with current customers. As the first line of contact with major Cone OEM accounts, the TSM will play a crucial role in executing Cone Drive's strategies and initiatives. This includes providing support to Authorized Sales Partners (ASP), which are the top distribution locations for Cone Drive products within the territory. The TSM will be expected to leverage their sales expertise to identify opportunities for growth, foster long-term relationships with customers, and ensure that the Cone Drive product offerings meet the needs of the market. The role requires a proactive approach to sales, with a focus on understanding customer requirements and delivering tailored solutions that enhance productivity and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales, particularly within the industrial equipment sector, and will be adept at navigating the complexities of the manufacturing environment. Responsibilities

  • Develop new applications and business at profiled OEM target accounts.
  • Maintain and grow the Cone business at assigned existing accounts.
  • Support ASPs, the top Cone distribution locations in the territory.
  • Execute Cone Drive strategies and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of related sales experience in industrial equipment or products.
  • Ability to call on and maintain existing Cone Drive accounts and develop new accounts and applications for the Cone Drive product offering.
  • Ability to gain working knowledge of products and their applications, as well as understanding the customer base in the given region.
  • Ability to foster long-term relationships with customers and have a proven track record in maintaining and growing business in the manufacturing arena.
  • Minimum of 50% regional travel.
