About the position

The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and building relationships with key accounts in the Northern California territory, specifically targeting food manufacturers. This role involves working closely with the Regional Sales Manager to achieve sales targets, providing exceptional service to existing clients, and identifying new business opportunities. The position emphasizes collaboration with internal teams and requires a strong focus on customer needs and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Regional Sales Manager to achieve overall sales targets for the territory.
  • Build relationships with key accounts in the Northern California territory, focusing on food manufacturers.
  • Develop partnerships with major key clients and provide white glove service.
  • Identify and grow new accounts in the Food Manufacturing space as part of an outside sales role.
  • Coordinate pre-sales and post-sales follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Expand relationships with existing customers by proposing solutions that meet their objectives.
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts using territory and target account metrics.
  • Attend trade shows and assist in the selection and preparation of samples and promotional materials.
  • Manage communications between key clients and internal teams to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Strategic planning to improve customer results and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related work experience preferred.
  • 4-5 years of sales experience, particularly in the Food & Beverage sector.
  • Experience selling into Food & Beverage Manufacturers & OEMs is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building relationships.
  • CRM experience is necessary.
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven sales results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in agricultural or specialty chemicals is a plus.
