About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for expanding the volume and mix of building products in the Long Island, NY area. This role focuses on building strong relationships with distributors, dealers, and contractors to achieve sales and profitability targets. The manager will represent various products and work closely with the marketing department to support sales initiatives and training.

Responsibilities

  • Quickly establish strong relationships with all existing customers
  • Create opportunity and take additional share within distribution channels
  • Establish heavy focus on dealer & contractor relationships to 'pull' business through to distributors
  • Analyze territory distribution needs and establish targets for additional distribution
  • Have full understanding of installation of all products to assist distributors in training and customer service needs
  • Participate in channel strategy for territory
  • Work closely with Marketing Department to provide information and support programs
  • Operate within expense budget parameters
  • Provide intelligence to marketing department
  • Actively participate in inter-company teams and work groups
  • Create presentations, demonstrate products and represent the company at trade shows
  • Maintain contact with dealers and distributors, analyze sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements
  • Conduct field visits to customers and sell services
  • Increase sales for the Westlake Royal Building Product brands
  • Prepare proposals and contracts
  • Conduct meetings, presentations, follow-ups and proposals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years direct sales experience required; building product sales experience preferred
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, detail oriented
  • An enthusiastic, self-starter with good interpersonal skills
  • Requires a consultative mind-set, solution-oriented method of selling
  • Existing strong relationships within the dealer and/or distribution channel a plus
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Teams and Outlook 365
  • Experience with Salesforce or other deal desk systems
