About the position

The Territory Sales Manager position is a critical role focused on expanding the volume and mix of building products in the Long Island, NY area. This position requires the individual to act as a trusted partner to distributors, ensuring that sales, mix, and profitability targets are met within the assigned territory. The Territory Manager will represent a variety of products, including Royal PVC, Kleer, Skytrim, Celect, Zuri, TruExterior, Cedar Renditions, Versetta Stone, and Wellcraft, and will be responsible for driving sales growth through effective relationship management and strategic planning. In this role, the Territory Sales Manager will quickly establish strong relationships with existing customers and create opportunities to increase market share within distribution channels. A significant focus will be placed on building relationships with dealers and contractors to facilitate business growth through distributors. The manager will analyze the distribution needs of the territory and set targets for expanding distribution, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of product installation to assist in training and customer service. The position also involves collaboration with the Marketing Department to provide insights and support for marketing programs. The Territory Sales Manager will operate within budget parameters, provide market intelligence, and actively participate in inter-company teams and work groups. Responsibilities include creating presentations, demonstrating products, and representing the company at trade shows. Regular contact with dealers and distributors is essential, as is the analysis of sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements. The manager will conduct field visits, prepare proposals and contracts, and lead meetings and follow-ups to drive sales for the Westlake Royal Building Product brands.

Responsibilities

  • Quickly establish strong relationships with all existing customers
  • Create opportunity and take additional share within our distribution channels
  • Establish heavy focus on dealer & contractor relationships to ‘pull' business through to distributors (both existing & new)
  • Analyze territory distribution needs and establish targets for additional distribution
  • Have full understanding of installation of all products in order to assist distributors in training as well as customer service needs
  • Participate in channel strategy for territory
  • Work closely with Marketing Department to provide information and support programs
  • Operate within expense budget parameters
  • Provide intelligence to marketing department
  • Actively participate, as required, in inter-company teams and work groups
  • Create presentations, demonstrate products and represent the company at trade shows
  • Maintain contact with dealers and distributors, and analyze sales statistics to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and to monitor customers' preferences
  • Conduct field visits to customers and sell services
  • Increase sales for the Westlake Royal Building Product brands
  • Prepare proposals and contracts
  • Conduct meetings, presentations, follow-ups and proposals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years direct sales experience required; building product sales experience preferred
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, detail oriented
  • An enthusiastic, self-starter with good interpersonal skills
  • Requires the consultative mind-set, solution-oriented method of selling
  • Existing strong relationships within the dealer and/or distribution channel a plus
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Teams and Outlook 365
  • Experience with Salesforce or other deal desk systems
