About the position

The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth in new and existing accounts within the designated territory. This role involves recruiting and developing sales managers and representatives, executing a comprehensive business plan, and providing ongoing coaching and support to ensure sales targets are met. The position requires a strong focus on professional growth and effective management of the sales office.

Responsibilities

  • Build a business plan that specifies the marketing, recruiting, and sales strategy for the territory.
  • Execute activities leading to the fulfillment of the business plan, including sourcing and developing Sales Managers.
  • Complete the induction of new District General Agents (DGAs) in accordance with the onboarding programs.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to District Managers to assist them in achieving their goals.
  • Schedule regular conference calls and meetings for managers and representatives.
  • Create marketing approaches to grow the territory and enhance sales opportunities.
  • Report on activities and results to field management and the Home Office as required.
  • Commit to professional growth through training and development programs.
  • Effectively manage the Sales Office including staff and budget.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role with Colonial Life or a comparable company.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Licensed to solicit insurance or ability to obtain insurance license within 45 days.
  • Public speaking skills preferred.
  • Strong planning skills preferred.
  • Network of potential Manager, Rep, and Broker candidates preferred.
  • Ability to travel extensively based on the needs of the territory.
