The Territory Sales Manager-National Retail will be responsible for managing existing customer relationships while also focusing on growth within the region. The ideal candidate will possess a "HUNTER" mentality, demonstrating a strong drive to expand relationships and revenue streams. This role requires comfort in engaging with national retailers, previous customers, and identifying new business opportunities. Relationship building is paramount, as the Territory Sales Manager will work to support established clients while also seeking new sales opportunities. The position offers a solid base salary complemented by a commission structure, incentivizing performance and growth. Key responsibilities include identifying new sales opportunities with both new and existing customers, maximizing sales efforts by focusing on the most profitable opportunities, and improving profitability and product penetration with all customers. The Territory Sales Manager will qualify sales opportunities through market and customer research, develop competitive pricing strategies, and communicate the value proposition to customers. Closing sales opportunities by gaining purchase orders and executing order fulfillment procedures is also a critical aspect of the role. Providing outstanding customer service and ensuring post-sales satisfaction will facilitate long-term relationships and repeat business with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies new sales opportunities with new and existing customers, focusing on selling program business.
  • Maximizes sales efforts by concentrating on the largest and most profitable opportunities.
  • Improves profitability, product penetration, and product mix with all customers.
  • Qualifies sales opportunities through market/customer research and collaboration with inside sales representatives.
  • Develops sales solutions and competitive pricing strategies, communicating the value proposition to customers.
  • Proposes sales solutions to customers and reevaluates solutions where necessary.
  • Closes sales opportunities by gaining purchase orders and executing all order fulfillment procedures.
  • Provides outstanding customer service and post-sales satisfaction to facilitate long-term relationships for repeat business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a sales driver, managing an established book of business and increasing partnerships.
  • Knowledge of building materials is a plus.
  • Strong market knowledge, product experience, and relationship-building acumen, along with consultative selling skills.
  • Possesses a "Hunter" mentality.
  • Strong planning, organization, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Solid knowledge in account management, scheduling, customer support and service, product knowledge, product pricing, sales support, warehousing, distribution, transportation, and records.
  • Self-motivated and driven individual.
  • Basic telephone skills with the ability to identify key issues, evaluate facts, and recommend appropriate action.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant sales systems technology.
