The Territory Sales Manager-National Retail will be responsible for managing existing customer relationships while also focusing on growth within the region. The ideal candidate will possess a "HUNTER" mentality, demonstrating a strong drive to expand relationships and revenue streams. This role requires comfort in engaging with national retailers, previous customers, and identifying new business opportunities while supporting established clients. Relationship building is paramount in this position, which offers a solid base salary complemented by a commission structure. The Territory Sales Manager will identify new sales opportunities with both new and existing customers, focusing on selling program business. The role involves maximizing sales efforts by concentrating on the largest and most profitable opportunities, which may include segmenting the account list. The manager will work to improve profitability, product penetration, and product mix with all customers, qualifying sales opportunities through market and customer research, and collaborating with inside sales representatives. Developing sales solutions and competitive pricing strategies, communicating the value proposition to customers, and proposing sales solutions are key responsibilities. Closing sales opportunities by securing purchase orders and executing all order fulfillment procedures is essential, as is providing outstanding customer service and ensuring post-sales satisfaction to facilitate long-term relationships for repeat business.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a sales driver, capable of managing an established book of business and increasing partnerships.
  • Knowledge of building materials is a plus.
  • Market knowledge, product experience, and relationship-building acumen, along with consultative selling skills.
  • Possesses a "Hunter" mentality.
  • Strong planning, organization, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Solid knowledge in account management, scheduling, customer support and service, product knowledge, product pricing, sales support, warehousing, distribution, transportation, and records.
  • Self-motivated and driven individual.
  • Basic telephone skills with the ability to identify key issues, evaluate facts, and recommend appropriate action.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant sales systems technology.
