About the position

At TerrAscend, we are on a mission to shape the future of the cannabis industry by creating leading marijuana-based therapies for patients and developing premium products for legalized adult recreational use. The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will be responsible for all customer facing sales and service activities within the Maryland market. The TSM is responsible for promotion, sales, and support of TerrAscend's portfolio of products to new and existing clients with direction from Northeast Sales Leadership. This position works with a Territory Sales Associate that supports with entering sales orders as well as in-field sales and promotional visits for existing and new accounts. This a hybrid role that requires heavy in-field travel covering TerrAscend's book of business within the State of New Jersey. We are searching for candidates who are located centrally in this market. A valid driver's license and personal vehicle is required to perform this role.

Responsibilities

  • Presenting, promoting, and selling TerrAscend's products and services to existing and new customers
  • Establishing, developing, and maintaining positive business relationships to ensure long-term sales opportunities
  • Monitoring competition by gathering information on pricing, products, market presence, etc.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge on the marijuana industry in general, noting key players, pivotal techniques, emerging trends, and overall status of the industry within designated territory
  • Partnering with Supply Chain team and TerrAscend grow and process teams to ensure efficient supply to meet demand
  • Weekly and monthly reporting on KPIs, benchmarks, and ongoing sales pipeline
  • Meeting and exceeding company weekly and monthly metrics and KPIs
  • Expanding TerrAscend's market share and reach within designated territory

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of successful B2B or Retail sales experience with an emphasis on acquiring new accounts and developing existing accounts within the cannabis industry
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Ability to travel ~80% of the time within designated territory; must have reliable transportation
  • Working knowledge of state-specific Medical Marijuana program preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, and other standard computer applications
  • Experience utilizing Sales tracking platform for customer data, sales information, market competition, and reporting
  • Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve time-sensitive results
  • Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent prioritization, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience's needs
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with customers in maintaining and enhancing customer relationships
