About the position

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) for the Oil & Gas Industry is responsible for managing sales activities and marketing efforts within a designated geographic territory. This role requires a combination of fieldwork and administrative tasks, including regular visits to dealers, conducting sales meetings, and ensuring compliance with company standards and contracts. The TSM will work closely with various departments to support franchisees and improve business operations, while also tracking performance objectives and managing dealer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Visit each assigned account a minimum of two times per month.
  • Conduct monthly dealer sales call meetings at each site and prepare a report.
  • Complete Dealer Sales call form for every visit.
  • Verify retailing standards for image, customer service, environmental, and APCs.
  • Resolve dealer/station issues received via phone, fax, and e-mail.
  • Counsel dealers on Convenience Store business improvement, including product placement and merchandising, store layout, appropriate SRPs, promotional opportunities, product theft deterrent practices, inventory control, proper vendor practices, and customer service.
  • Establish targets and track results for assigned Performance Objectives.
  • Process all TCVA requests and ensure proper TCVA payment to the dealer.
  • Resolve credit and fleet card issues and create and maintain station and subject files.
  • Facilitate the execution of dealer contracts and related agreements, proofreading for accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit proposals for contract renewals, new contracts, non-renewals, terminations, and necessary changes to agreements.
  • Monitor bounced drafts and credit terms, counseling dealers on returned EFTs.
  • Determine and recommend required capital expenditures and manage dealer funded improvements.
  • Resolve NOVs and execute the Pump-out policy, preparing necessary reports.
  • Assist with Real Estate Department projects and provide recommendations for lease extensions or non-renewals.
  • Counsel dealers on sales and inventory reporting and order entry procedures, managing non-reporters.
  • Enter current territory prices for assigned sites and competitors into the AS-400 system and administer pricing programs.
  • Resolve dealer and customer complaints, conducting investigations and proposing responses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training in sales or the oil and gas industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly with gas stations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for dealer and customer interactions.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $90k plus bonus potential, totaling approximately $120k in compensation.
