About the position

The Territory Sales Manager - On Premise will be responsible for executing field-level strategies with excellence and providing channel expertise for the MJUS brand portfolio. This role involves managing resources such as point-of-sale materials and local budgets, supporting consumer events, and driving brand visibility in the on-premise market. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and influencing skills, enabling them to deliver effective brand education to accounts. The Territory Sales Manager will proactively manage distributor partners, engage in planning and programming, and solve problems related to the MJUS brand portfolio. This position requires a significant presence in the market, with 80-95% of the time spent in the field, averaging five days a week, with two administrative days per month. Preferred residency for candidates is in Maryland, particularly in areas such as Columbia, Laurel, or Bowie.

Responsibilities

  • Develop local commercial solutions to enhance brand execution and image in the market, including proper distribution of MJUS brands, merchandising programs, shelf management, drink features, and promotions.
  • Ensure excellent retail execution in key accounts.
  • Build the Jägermeister and Teremana business in the market according to channel and brand standards with best-in-class execution.
  • Contribute new ideas and solutions for distributors and retailers in the territory.
  • Understand pricing, profit, and brand economics at the account level.
  • Strategically grow sales volume in key designated market areas (DMA).
  • Identify key accounts, opinion leaders, and influencers within the channel and occasion strategies.
  • Conduct staff trainings and tastings in accounts.
  • Capitalize on local trends within the designated market to inspire future programming.
  • Execute Jägermeister brand standards centered around a perfect ice-cold shot in accounts.
  • Execute defined drink strategies while adapting to account needs to build menus and features.
  • Utilize tools to analyze ROI and understand business effectiveness, including major events and consumer development activities.
  • Track and monitor Point-Of-Sale.
  • Motivate the local distributor network to execute commercial brand and channel priorities.
  • Own relationships with local distributors at the account level and promote the history and production of the MJUS Brand Portfolio.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in Sales, preferably in the spirits and/or beverage industry, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience; college degree preferred.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Proven success in formulating account strategies and executing against them to drive results.
  • Willingness to learn selling the Jägermeister way.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative spirit.
  • Detail-oriented and organized; excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and support numerous projects.
  • Well-developed influence and negotiation skills; persistent and persuasive.
  • Frequent travel within the territory required; must have a valid driver's license and vehicle for travel between accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
