About the position

As a Territory Sales Manager for Payroll/HCM at Heartland, you will be responsible for selling merchant services offerings to businesses across your assigned territories. This role involves a variety of activities including pricing, customer segmentation, customer presentations, account sign-up and activation, and ongoing account management. You will primarily engage in field sales, conducting face-to-face meetings with area businesses, although some business may also be conducted over the phone depending on the scale of the opportunity. In this position, you will manage a portfolio of clients, identifying revenue opportunities and prospective clients through various means such as face-to-face meetings, telecommunications, and marketing programs. Your responsibilities will include conducting meetings with prospects to identify appropriate contacts, qualifying leads, and driving them through the sales pipeline. You will ensure thorough suspect identification, planning, account qualification, and needs analysis at all prospect levels. Additionally, you will respond to customer requests for information and provide online presentations to showcase our offerings. Your role will also involve identifying and closing additional product and service sales with existing clients to further develop those relationships. You will maintain accurate records of existing and prospective clients in accordance with company policies, including call notes, scheduled interactions, and relevant client information in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, currently SalesForce. Keeping management informed of all activities through timely report preparation will be essential. To succeed in this role, you will need to continuously build and develop your knowledge of our current product and service portfolio, as well as stay updated on changes and developments within the payments industry. This proactive approach will enable you to provide the best solutions to our clients and help them prosper.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in sales.
  • B2B sales experience and cold calling sales experience preferred.
