About the position

The Territory Sales Manager for Payroll/HCM at Heartland Payment Systems is responsible for selling merchant services offerings to businesses within assigned territories. This role involves managing client relationships, identifying revenue opportunities, and conducting face-to-face meetings to drive sales. The position requires a proactive approach to account management and customer engagement, ensuring that client needs are met while promoting the company's product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients for the company.
  • Identify revenue opportunities and prospective clients within assigned territories through various activities.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects to qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Respond to customer requests for information and conduct online presentations.
  • Identify and close additional product and/or service sales with existing clients.
  • Maintain client records in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, including call notes and scheduled interactions.
  • Keep management informed of all activity through timely report preparation.
  • Continuously build knowledge of current product/service portfolio and industry developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in sales, preferably B2B sales.
  • Demonstrated successful performance in previous sales roles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cold calling sales experience.
  • Expert knowledge of the merchant payment industry.
