About the position

The Territory Sales Manager for Payroll/HCM is responsible for driving sales of merchant services offerings to businesses across various territories, including Dallas, Denver, Edmond, Oklahoma City, Saint Louis, and Springfield. This role involves a combination of field sales and some phone-based business interactions, depending on the scale of the opportunity. The primary focus is on managing a portfolio of clients, identifying revenue opportunities, and engaging with prospective clients through face-to-face meetings, telephone communications, and marketing initiatives. In this position, the Territory Sales Manager will conduct in-depth needs analysis and account qualification to ensure that the right solutions are presented to potential clients. This includes responding to customer inquiries, delivering online presentations, and closing additional product or service sales with existing clients to enhance relationships. The role requires meticulous record-keeping in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, specifically SalesForce.com, to maintain accurate client information and track interactions. Regular reporting to management on sales activities and client engagement is also a key responsibility. To succeed in this role, the Territory Sales Manager must continuously build and develop knowledge of the current product and service portfolio, as well as stay informed about changes and developments within the payments industry. This ongoing education is crucial for effectively addressing client needs and positioning the company’s offerings competitively in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and identify revenue opportunities within assigned territories.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects to qualify leads and drive them through the sales pipeline.
  • Respond to customer requests for information and deliver online presentations.
  • Identify and close additional product and service sales with existing clients to develop relationships further.
  • Maintain accurate client records in the CRM system, including call notes and scheduled interactions.
  • Keep management informed of all sales activities through timely report preparation.
  • Continuously build knowledge of the product/service portfolio and industry developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in sales, preferably B2B.
  • Demonstrated successful performance in previous sales roles.
