About the position

The Territory Sales Manager for Precision Cutting Tools is responsible for managing customer relationships and driving sales within the assigned territory of Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. This role involves providing technical support to end-users and distribution partners, developing sales strategies, and ensuring the quality of sales performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in machining and a proven track record in sales, with a focus on increasing profit margins and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage customer relationships with assigned territory
  • Increase sales and profit margin with assigned territory
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for the assigned territory
  • Keep CRM updated for assigned accounts, ensuring data is current and accurate
  • Review lost opportunities to provide feedback on pricing, product, service/support, and sales strategy
  • Set sales goals, including new business targets and objectives for the assigned territory and report on progress
  • Develop and implement respective sales plans
  • Coordinate internal resources (i.e. - Product Managers) as required to support territory
  • Work with distributors to coordinate support products and solutions if the account is being supported by a distributor
  • Effectively communicate market trends and product competitiveness to management and new business
  • Submit a monthly report consisting of target account updates, quotation feedback, and distributor updates and training
  • Provide Regional Manager with status changes and forecast feedback at major accounts.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of machining experience on both manual and CNC machines
  • 2+ years of sales experience preferred
  • An engineering degree or a certificate program from a machining trade school preferred
  • Strong technical capability to understand and recommend solutions for milling and tapping applications
  • Ability to develop and foster customer relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing business correspondence, reports, and presentation skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and close prospect accounts
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to use the Internet, Project Management software, spreadsheets, and word processing software
  • Ability to work independently to set daily priorities and workload.
