About the position

The Territory Sales Manager will serve as the primary representative for Oldcastle's Barrette Outdoor Living and RDI Railing brands within the designated territory, which includes North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia up to Richmond. This role is pivotal in driving sales growth and enhancing the visibility of MoistureShield products in the market. The Territory Sales Manager will collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Director to implement effective sales strategies and processes aimed at expanding business within the traditional two-step distribution channel. In this position, the Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for improving and leading sales efforts at retail lumber yards, ensuring that product knowledge (PK's) and special orders for Barrette Outdoor Living and RDI products are effectively managed throughout the territory. The role involves leading and coordinating various sales functions, including conducting training sessions for store personnel to enhance their understanding of the products. Additionally, the Territory Sales Manager will represent MoistureShield at trade home shows, promoting the brand and its offerings to potential customers. A key aspect of this role is to investigate and resolve customer claims, thereby reinforcing the relationship between customers and local stores. The Territory Sales Manager will also act as a liaison between the sales department and other sales-related units, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. Regular preparation of sales reports detailing sales volume, potential sales, and areas for client base expansion will be required. Furthermore, the manager will monitor and evaluate the competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions and drive pull-through sales to builders, architects, and homeowners.

Responsibilities

  • Improving and leading the assigned territory to increase sales at retail lumber yards.
  • Assisting with product knowledge (PK's) and special orders of Barrette Outdoor Living and RDI products throughout the territory.
  • Leading and coordinating sales functions.
  • Coordinating and conducting training on products for store personnel.
  • Representing MoistureShield and attending trade home shows to promote products.
  • Investigating and resolving customer claims to reinforce relationships between customers and local stores.
  • Coordinating liaison between the sales department and other sales-related units.
  • Preparing periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the activities and products of the competition.
  • Responsible for pull-through sales to builders, architects, and homeowners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years related experience in Sales.
  • Experience in the building material space is a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
