About the position

Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for Region 41, which encompasses South, West, and Central Texas. This position is crucial for driving the company's market share by managing and expanding the existing distributor base while ensuring exceptional customer service. The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for specification efforts and will leverage their extensive product knowledge to assist with technical questions and installation needs. The ideal candidate will reside within the territory to effectively engage with local distributors, contractors, and municipalities. In this role, the Territory Sales Manager will develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, creating value and driving financial results. They will be expected to understand and demonstrate the features and benefits of Tyler Union's full product line, conduct training sessions for distributors, and deliver engineering presentations to enhance the company's specification position. Collaboration with various internal departments, including inside sales, production, and engineering, will be essential to achieve sales objectives. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with distributors, contractors, and municipalities located within the territory, creating value, and driving financial results.
  • Understand and demonstrate the features and benefits of the full line of Tyler Union products.
  • Conduct distributor training and engineering presentations to further improve specification position within assigned territory.
  • Coordinate efforts with inside sales, quotations, production, distribution, and engineering departments to achieve territory sales objectives.
  • Inform management of business, product, and competitive trends within the territory.
  • Active participation in helping to resolve internal problems that can negatively impact customers including quality, manufacturing, scheduling, and delivery issues.
  • Analyze sales levels and trends, and initiate actions as necessary to ensure the attainment of sales objectives.
  • Perform various other miscellaneous sales and service-related duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Previous outside sales experience and an extensive understanding of sales functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Business-related discipline is preferred. Individuals without a degree will be considered but must possess industrial sales experience or significant work experience in the waterworks industry.
  • Ability for extensive domestic travel as projects and work responsibilities dictate.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
