About the position

The Territory Sales Manager for the Countertop Division at VT Industries will represent the company within a designated territory, focusing on building relationships with customers, architects, and industry influencers to achieve sales objectives and increase market share. This role involves understanding the product offerings, prospecting for new customers, and developing strategic business plans to align with the company's long-term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a solid understanding of all countertop options offered by VT and promote and sell to an existing fabricator base while continually building customer relationships.
  • Grow market share by prospecting for new customers and opportunities, primarily targeting millwork and cabinet shops, fabricators, lumber yards, distributors, design build developers/contractors, flooring dealers, property management companies, and kitchen/bath retail stores.
  • Develop a business plan for area of responsibility that is consistent with long-range company objectives.
  • Schedule and perform product demonstrations with current and potential customers.
  • Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales.
  • Recommend marketing and sales strategies to target a specific region.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales plans.
  • Understand business and customer needs to help resolve product claims as they arise.
  • Use CRM system to log customer interactions, needs, new account creation, pricing, etc.
  • Utilize marketing material to enhance sales.
  • Participate in team meetings and regional and national trade shows as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of inside and/or outside sales experience in the building products industry.
  • Skilled in negotiation, organization, time management, problem solving, and consultative selling skills, as well as cross-functional interactions with other internal departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and adept at using Excel, Power Point, Word, Microsoft Office, and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of architectural specifications, building, and woodworking industry is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
