About the position

As a Territory Sales Manager (TSM) - Residential at Simpson Strong-Tie, you will be responsible for driving sales growth in the San Jose, CA area, focusing on the residential market segment. This role involves coordinating with various teams to develop and execute business strategies, supervising Dealer Sales Representatives, and conducting training sessions. You will engage with customers, manage relationships, and analyze market needs to ensure customer satisfaction and business profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Drive demand and grow sales of all Simpson product lines in the defined marketplace, including active engagement on jobsites and conducting sales calls.
  • Coach, train, and manage the professional development of the Dealer Sales Representatives, providing oversight and maintaining performance through goal settings.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with customers and manage supply chain relationships with channel partners, providing ongoing training and technical support.
  • Promote Simpson Strong-Tie as an industry partner by participating in trade shows and providing educational opportunities in classroom settings throughout the territory.
  • Manage CRM usage, business planning, and assist in the hiring process of Dealer Sales Representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience and/or training in residential construction practices and distribution channels.
  • Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth preferred.
  • 2-3 years of management experience with a proven track record of leading direct reports and employee development.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Salesforce CRM, and SAP ERP.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluent in residential construction practices and distribution channels.
  • Strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer to contractor.
  • Ability to develop and present captivating presentations.
