About the position

The Territory Sales Manager at Waste Connections is responsible for driving sales and maintaining relationships with existing accounts while identifying new business opportunities. This role requires a proactive and innovative approach to sales, focusing on achieving monthly sales goals and optimizing client equipment solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and retain current accounts
  • Identify opportunities for increased business in existing accounts
  • Develop a list of prospective accounts and key contacts
  • Target large volume opportunities within designated geographic areas
  • Maintain and update CRM tools (Salesforce/ARES) for future follow up
  • Maintain sales pipeline to achieve goals for new/gross sales monthly
  • Prepare complex proposals to existing and potential clients
  • Make recommendations on equipment optimization and leasing options
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-4 years direct sales or business development experience with proven results
  • Experience with professional presentations and excellent written, verbal and listening skills
  • Experience in Business to Business selling, Contract Selling, and Sales Negotiation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or comparable CRM tools is a plus
  • Good numeracy skills to estimate pricing and calculate margins
